Grant’d With Impact – A conversation with Alison Covington Founder, Good360

31/08/2021 @ 12:00 - 13:00

Join us as we chat with Good360 Founder and MD Alison Covington, and pull the curtain back on how Alison scaled her mission to $4M+!

On a mission to connect surplus with need, Good360 is at the forefront of building sustainable businesses and communities at the same time as ensuring those in need can access what they need to not only survive but thrive.

As 2020’s Charity of the Year, Good360 has achieved an impressive growth trajectory since its 2015 launch, having distributed well over $175 million worth of goods to those in need to date at the same time as raising significant revenue with $4 million generated during 2020 alone.

And in what may come as a surprise to some, this rapid rate of growth has been powered by the singularly determined woman at Good360’s helm, Alison Covington.

From the seedlings of an idea, Alison has leveraged her gold standard relationship building and fundraising skills to grow the organisation into an impact powerhouse and firmly establish it as a solid and viable investment prospect for funders.

And without doubt, Alison’s approaches have worked. Being the successful recipient of grants from highly sought after funders including The Snow Foundation, Ian Potter Foundation, Macquarie, Colliers Charitable Fund and Gandel Philanthropy – to name a few!

Good360’s successes are a strong reminder for us that true, lasting and sustainable impact is only made possible where communities, organisations and corporates collaborate towards a shared goal – especially in times of crisis.

And even as we recognise the innovative nature of Good360’s business model in matching needs to supplies, the fact that 2800 charities and disadvantaged schools (at last count!) have been supported through its work leads us to reflect on the staggering resourcing needs being faced by the community sector.

Join us for this Grant’d With Impact session where Grant’d Founder Janine will have a highly inspiring and educational discussion with Alison around Good360’s:

· Growth Journey: The highs and lows of powering the growth of a Founder led organisation across the past six years.

· Funding Journey: Including the formula that has driven Good360’S funding successes even through the challenges that every Founder or CEO faces in realising their organisation’s potential for sustainability and scaling.

· Simple solutions for change: How simple solutions can be the key to success – and how Good360 identified theirs.

· Impact: What can be achieved where the community sector is empowered with resources, particularly in times of crisis (think bushfires and COVID-19)

Through this intentional and targeted conversation that will tap into Alison’s extensive experiences and expertise across these topics, those of you working across the charitable, social enterprise, business and community spaces will find yourselves empowered with inspiration and learnings that can be applied to your missions to build, strengthen and scale your change making initiatives towards powering even more impact across the communities that you serve.

Come armed with your questions for Alison as we will have 10 minutes Q&A at the end. Can’t make it live, that’s ok. Register and we will share the recording.

ABOUT ALISON AND GOOD360:

Alison Covington brought the ‘Good360’ charity to Australia, which offers the retail sector a sustainable, community-focused option to redirect surplus product from landfill. Inspiring all Australians to ensure that every brand-new product must have a ‘first life’ use – nothing useful to lie unused or go to waste.

Good360 is Australia’s largest on-line marketplace, matching business’ surplus brand-new goods to people most in need.

In just six years, over 300 retailers and manufacturers have signed on and donated over $188 million in brand new product, including essential toiletries, household items, clothing, shoes, PPE and stationery supplies to name a few. Their network of over 2,800 member charities and disadvantaged schools Australia-wide, across 31 cause areas, order the goods they need from the Good360 website with the ease of 24/7 access, saving time and precious budget. Thanks to Alison’s business model and vision, more than 21 million brand-new items have been matched to people in need, helping to provide dignity and equality.

Good360 Australia is well on the way to achieving Alison’s goal of matching $1 billion worth of brand-new goods to Australians in need by 2025.
